Marriage Advice

Since I'm too tired to come up with anything to say all on my own, I thought I would include this helpful list of marriage tips that my husband recently sent to a friend.

"Let not the sun go down upon your wrath." Ephesians 4:26

"Affection begets (something that rhymes with T-Rex), and vice versa."

"Pajamas were not made for the married."

"Nothing should come between husband and wife, except the bathroom door." Helpful advice my husband learned from Opus the Penguin.

When we first got married, my new brother-in-law advised, "Shower with a friend."

What other simple advice do you like to give to those young, or not so young, folks taking the plunge into wedded bliss?

This is something a dear friend told me:
Marriage is never 50/50. It has to be 100% effort on both parts to work.
And something I'm learning from a marriage class we're taking now:
You have to learn to love life in order to have a love life.

Don't forget to say "Ilove you" and "thank you."

Affection begets K'nex? And vice versa?
My only marriage advice is all men marry above their station in life. Remembering that fact goes a long way towards keeping a marriage happy.
(Oh - and keeping your inner monologue inner also maintains a healthy relationship.

I've always heard "pick your battles" and, while the concept behind the advice always made sense, after five years of marriage I think I truly understand.

Never take your marriage relationship for granted. Never.
Surprise your spouse every once-in-a-while (in a nice way).

Can we really improve upon, "do unto others, as you would have them do unto you"?
That, and "call, when you say you are going to call." Great advice I received from a female friend, back when I first started dating Mrs. NBS.
The second one is really just for the guys. But both have worked allright for us, though granted, it's only been 3 months.
